Bergen taxi companies warn about Randstad drivers

These drivers would charge double rates and pretend to be a local taxi company, leading to confusion and overcharging among visitors. The Bergen entrepreneurs advocate a permanent stand during major events, so that travelers can choose a recognizable and reliable taxi.

The problem in Bergen op Zoom shows how important recognisability and a pre-agreed price are for taxi transport, especially during busy events in the region. Also in Rotterdam, Vlaardingen, Schiedam and the rest of Rijnmond, travelers alternately choose between companies, and it is not always clear to customers who exactly is driving ahead or what a ride ultimately costs.
