Taxi drivers complain about Uber, but continue to use it

According to PITANE.BLUE, taxi drivers' dissatisfaction with commissions from Uber and Bolt is growing, although many still switch to the app in the evening.

According to PITANE.BLUE, dissatisfaction among Dutch taxi drivers about Uber and Bolt's commissions is growing. The dissatisfaction among Dutch taxi drivers with Uber and Bolt is growing, with high commissions, declining margins and an increasing dependence on digital platforms that cause frustration. New initiatives such as NLCabs are trying to open up the market with significantly lower commissions. At the same time, the editors note that drivers who declare that they are done with Uber during the day, regularly turn on the same app again in the evening, not because their objections have disappeared, but because they need rides.

The message touches on a core question in Dutch taxi transport, namely who actually owns the customer. PITANE.BLUE states that the taxi industry has largely lost the direct link with its customers, and that little will change as long as drivers, in the event of disappointing income, return to the platforms they are protesting against, thus keeping the system afloat on which they want to become less dependent. This affects the entire sector in the Rijnmond region, where both platform drivers and local taxi companies be active.
