Vietnamese taxi company Green SM has launched electric cars in Los Angeles, the US, its ninth market.
According to Vietnam.vn, Vietnamese taxi company Green SM has officially launched in the United States. The company launched its service in Los Angeles, where residents have been able to book a ride via the app, the phone line or by hailing a car on the street since mid-October. The US fleet consists entirely of electric VinFast VF 8 models, making the US the ninth market for Green SM and the first in North America.
Since its founding in 2023, Green SM, a subsidiary of the Vietnamese Vingroup, has also become active in countries such as Indonesia, India and Denmark, and now also in the Netherlands. This expansion fits in with a broader trend: more and more taxi companies worldwide are using fully electric cars for daily trips as well as airport transport and long distances, a development that VindTaxi in the Rijnmond region is already participating in with its electric Nissan Ariya.
For those who join VindTaxi, this news will not change anything: we already drive a fully electric Nissan Ariya in Rotterdam, Vlaardingen, Schiedam and the rest of Rijnmond. The arrival of Green SM in the US shows that electric taxi transport is becoming increasingly common worldwide. For larger groups or freight transport, VindTaxi continues to refer you to affiliated companies within the Taxi EU Service NL Platform.
