The government wants to increase the maximum rates for taxis by 4.43 percent as of January 1, 2027.
According to PITANE.BLUE, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management wants to increase the legal maximum rates for taxis. The maximum entry rate for a regular taxi will increase from 4.31 euros to 4.50 euros, and the maximum amount per kilometer will increase from 3.17 euros to 3.31 euros. The increase is based on the National Rate Index, which amounts to 4.43 percent for 2027, and must take effect on January 1, 2027.
These rates apply as a legal maximum for journeys taken on the street or at a stand and paid for by the meter. For the taxi sector in the Netherlands, including the Rijnmond region, this means that the cost of a meter ride may increase, while pre-agreed fixed prices can be agreed independently of these maximum rates.
For VindTaxi customers, in practice nothing changes in how they travel: for airport journeys and long journeys, we always agree on the price with you in advance, regardless of the legal maximum rates. If you get into a metered taxi in Rotterdam, Vlaardingen, Schiedam or elsewhere in Rijnmond, the statutory maximum rate may be higher from January 1, 2027.
