Self-driving taxis in Europe: what Bolt and Lucid announce

Bolt and car manufacturer Lucid want to eventually deploy at least 25,000 self-driving vehicles in Europe. What that means for a ride in Rotterdam or Vlaardingen.

Ridehailingplatform Bolt and car manufacturer Lucid will collaborate on autonomous mobility in Europe. According to TaxiPro, the companies eventually want to deploy at least 25,000 fully self-driving vehicles in several European countries.

That is a big announcement, but little is known about a concrete timeline and the first countries where this will be introduced. In the Netherlands, self-driving transport on public roads is subject to strict conditions and is assessed on a trial-by-trial basis.

What does this mean for you?

Nothing will change for your ride with VindTaxi for the time being. You get in with a driver who knows the region, you know in advance what the ride will cost and you can simply ask something or change an address along the way. We are following this development with interest, but are committed to a permanent driver and a car that is quiet and clean: our fully electric Nissan Ariya.
